We are happy to present to the lovers of Veda the fourth and concluding volume of the new four volume edition of the Krishna Yajur Taittiriya Samhita. This book has the text, translation and explanations of the last three Kanda-s, 5, 6 and 7, having 293 anuvaka-s with 1127 mantra-s and various prose Brahmana (ritualistic) passages. Kanda 6 has only Brahmana-s indicating dominance of the Brahmana passages in this book. Prof. Kashyap undertook this onerous task of translation of the Brahmana passages just to clear the long standing misconception of the supposed presence of wisdom in them claimed by some traditionalists.

The readers may please note that SAKSHI has published the text and translation of all the 4773 mantra-s in KYV omitting the Brahmana-s, in the book, ‘Taittiriya Samhita Mantra-s’.

The uniqueness of our translation of these Kanda-s has been given in the earlier 3 volumes.

The main intellectual sources for my work are the essays and translations of Sri Aurobindo and Sri Kapali Sastry who have demonstrated conclusively that the Veda deals primarily with the inner yajna. The inner yajna concept has been discussed in great detail in the first volume of this series.

In translating the mantra-s the word-meanings given by Sri Aurobindo and Sri Kapali Sastry have been useful.
